Deniliquin is located on the picturesque Edward River in the Riverina region of NSW, just 45 minutes from Echuca.

Famous for its world record breaking Ute Muster, Deni is a fantastic place to spend a day, weekend - or even a week! Come and discover what Deniliquin and district can offer you!

GO BACK TO NATURE

- The Edward River winds its way through Deniliquin and is lined by a number of sandy beaches, perfect for relaxing with family and friends. Watch the waterskis, canoes and hours pass you by!

- Throw in a line. Murray Cod and Yellowbelly call Deni home and can be caught on bait or lures (shrimp, worms, grubs and yabbies are the most popular baits). Fishing hot spots include Greg Graham Reserve, Four Post, Lawson Syphon, Steven Weir and Billabong Creek.

- Walk from our main street into our Island Sanctuary! Located in the centre of town, stroll through the Sanctuary and keep your eyes peeled for platypus, kangaroos, possums, bats and one of the 100+ bird species that call this wonderland home.

- Waring Gardens are located in the main street of Deniliquin and is the perfect picnic spot, or just somewhere to sit and take in the beautiful surrounds. Abound by fig, palm and willow trees and featuring a beautiful lake, the gardens are a must see when visiting the area.

COME TO PLAY

- Held over the NSW Labour Day long weekend, the Deni Ute Muster and Play on the Plains Festival attracts more than 10,000 utes and thousands more people to the area. This family-friendly event incorporates live music, bull rides, trade sites, a sports driving arena and a family centre to keep the mum, dad and the kids entertained.

- The Deniliquin RSL Fishing Classic is held each February and attracts hundreds of competitors from all over Australia. Loads of prizes are up for grabs - as well as the honour of holding one of the prestigious titles.

- Fall in love at the Deni Matchmakers Festival, Australia's largest singles festival, held in March each year. People come for miles to take part in this event with the hope of finding that special someone.

STEP BACK IN TIME

- The Peppin Heritage Centre is the home of the Visitor Information Centre and was once the original public school for the area. It has been transformed into a captivating museum that guides visitors through the history of the area, from its origins as a premier wool growing region to the development of the rice industry. It also hosts many touring exhibitions each year.

- Housed in the former police inspector's residence, the Deniliquin and District Historical Society Museum is another fascinating museum that will have history buffs entertained for hours.

- Drive the Drover's Dream! The Long Paddock Touring Route passes through Deniliquin and information panels can be found along the Cobb Highway. The Deniliquin River Walk along the beautiful Edward River allows visitors to follow the history of Deniliquin and the region on the Long Paddock information panels.
